Palmer Land Trust

Art for Land’s Sake Show and Sale

September 17 – 18, 2010

The Palmer Land Trust’s “Art for Land’s Sake Show and Sale” is returning.

This is an invitational show featuring 35 top artists from the region. I will have three paintings in the show. The opening reception on Friday night is always a lively affair. And it’s a fun way to help preserve our natural heritage, because 40% of sales benefit the Palmer Land Trust. The Palmer Land Trust has been instrumental in conserving thousands of acres in Colorado, including Red Rock Canyon Open Space and Paint Mines Interpretive Park. Learn more: Palmer Land Trust

2010 Paint the Parks Exhibition

“Evening at the Edge of the World”

I am happy to announce that “Evening at the Edge of the World” was selected as a winner in the

“2010 Paint the Parks 100”

This is a national exhibition of 100 paintings representing our national parks, monuments, and historic places. The exhibition will tour the nation starting this fall.

Exhibition locations will be posted in future newsletters and at the PaintAmerica.org website.

In addition, “Colorado Headwaters” was selected for the

“2010 Paint the Parks Mini50”

And will also be touring.

On the Road

We made several mini road-trips in the past month, traveling the local back roads in search of painting imagery and inspiration. I also got in one plein air painting session at Fountain Creek Nature Center.
