In 1977, with an art degree in my back pocket, I said good-bye to Ohio, went west, and fell in love. The Western landscape seduced me, embraced me in its greatness and never let me go.

I live to get out on the road, explore, get clobbered by the landscape, get hollowed out by the human experience, take all the photos I can, consume great food and drink along the way, then get back in the studio and paint the whole thing. It's a great life.

Baum lives and works in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
