Opening May 22
The 2021 Governor's Art Show presents an outstanding collection of work by many of Colorado's finest artists. Work will be on exhibit at the Loveland Museum in this prestigious annual show. I will be showing four paintings in the exhibition.

In the Studio and on the Road...
A lot of painting going on in April. I've been painting small studies and finishing up paintings for Manitou Galleries and the Governor's Art Show.
Here are some of the paintings I've been working on in April.
We are also busy planning a road trip to Utah in May. I've been studying photos of places I would like to revisit to find images I missed on previous trips. It seems the same landscape can provide endless variations. Season, time-of-day, weather, and even my own changing sensibilities can make the same location an entirely new experience.
Capitol Reef is one place we will be heading back to. This is a photo from a previous trip.
And I'm pouring over maps, looking for new places. There's nothing finer than finding a wonderful, new canyon to explore. I'd like to hear about your special places out among the canyons, deserts, and mountains of the Southwest. mike@michaelbaum.com
