In the Studio
By February, we are all getting pretty tired of winter. I find myself hunkering down in the studio painting up a storm while outside, a winter storm blows snow past my window. I've been working on paintings for shows coming up in the spring, looking forward to getting out on the road.
I'm working on another large painting of a fall scene along the Rio Grande in northern New Mexico. I work from a smaller study and a reference photo on the monitor. A cup of coffee and a good audio book round out the necessities. The painting is headed for a show in May at Manitou Galleries in Santa Fe.
